Though many athletes have posed for SI Swimsuit over its 49-year history, few left as lasting an impression as softball star Jennie Finch. The California native appeared in the 2005 issue, just months after leading the USA national softball team to the gold medal in Athens. Finch stopped by SINow last week to discuss her upcoming triathlon and her 2005 Swimsuit shoot.. When asked if she’d ever pose again, Finch responded, “I would have to really contemplate posing for SI again. If I did I would definitely get ready, hire a trainer and work hard to get abs like I never had before. But it was an awesome experience and a great thing to be a part of.” While Finch contemplates her swimsuit future, here are some of her best shots – from the beach, softball field and red carpet.

She looks great in a softball uniform, but these girls never measure up to the swimsuit models. They get taken out of the setting that makes them most attractive and put in a place where they just don't have the experience. She comes off looking stilted, flat, and thick. ESPN is doing a better job with their body issue because there's no absurd standard to compare the athletes to. They are photographed at ATHLETES, not as swimsuit models. Jennie Finch is just as attractive, maybe more so, but in a different way. Put the athletes on more of their own turf, rather than putting them on swimsuit model turf.
